China

China is located in eastern Asia, on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean. It starts from the center of Heilongjiang River near Mohe River in the north and ends at Zengmu Dark Sand in the Nansha Islands in the south. It starts from the Pamir Plateau in the west and ends at the confluence of the Heilongjiang River and the Ussuri River in the east. The land area is 9.6 million square kilometers, with a land boundary of over 20000 kilometers.
The territorial sea consists of the Bohai Sea (inner sea) and the three major coastal seas of the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea, with a coastline of 18000 kilometers in the eastern and southern continents.
China has a total of 34 provincial-level administrative regions (including 23 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 municipalities directly under the central government, and 2 special administrative regions), 333 prefecture level administrative regions, 2844 county-level administrative regions, and 38741 township level administrative regions. Beijing is the capital of China.
By the end of 2024, the national population will be 1.408 billion. There are 56 ethnic groups, with the Han ethnic group having the largest population.
China is the world’s second-largest economy, largest industrial country, and largest agricultural country.
In the field of technology, China is rising at an astonishing speed. High speed rail technology is globally leading, with steel dragons shuttling across the north and south of the country, bringing cities closer and making people’s travel more convenient and efficient. The widespread application of 5G communication technology is driving the digital transformation of various industries and ushering in a new era of Internet of Things. The aerospace industry has achieved remarkable results, with the successful launch of the Shenzhou series spacecraft time and time again, the continuous deepening of the Chang’e lunar exploration project, and the launch of the Tianwen-1 mission to explore Mars, demonstrating China’s determination and strength in exploring the universe.
In terms of culture, traditional Chinese culture has a long and profound history. Ancient Chinese characters carry thousands of years of historical memory, and calligraphy art is particularly charming, either elegant and free spirited, or strong and powerful. The traditional festivals are rich and colorful. The lively reunion in the Spring Festival, the Loong Boat race in the Dragon Boat Festival, and the moon watching and eating cakes in the Mid Autumn Festival all contain profound cultural connotations. Nowadays, Chinese culture is spreading to the world, and Confucius Institutes are taking root globally, allowing the world to appreciate the unique charm of Chinese culture.
On the international stage, China actively shoulders the responsibility of a major country and promotes the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. The “the Belt and Road” initiative opens up new space for world economic growth and builds a new platform for international trade and investment. At the same time, actively participating in global climate governance and contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to address climate change.
